Hello, all. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year - approximately one woman every minute! A recent article in Time online shared information from a recent study that concluded that younger women are having more heart attacks and that 'Compared to men, 'young women with heart attack are not receiving the same level of guideline-directed medications' such as lipid-lowering drugs, antiplatelet therapy and beta-blockers."
The Go Red for Women campaign is trying to change these statistics by informing and empowering women regarding their own heart health. As a member of the Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team, I am raising money to change those odds and help save the women in my life.
The picture on my page this year is of me, my mother, Marilyn, my sister-in-law, Meredith, and my niece, Emi (who is 12 going on 16!). The t-shirts that we are wearing say "Fierce" which is how we feel about the fight against heart disease. Please help me to educate and save women by making a tax deductible donation. Why? Life is why. The "Fierce" women in my life are why.
