2012 Executive Champions

JoAnn M. Magnatta 

Senior Vice President, Facilities Design and Construction/Real Estate, Main Line Health 

JoAnn M. Magnatta joined Main Line Health in 2001 as Senior Vice President of Facilities Design and Construction. In this role she oversees the design, development and construction for four acute care hospitals, one rehab hospital, a drug and alcohol treatment facility and all affiliated entities. She is also responsible for the acquisition, disposition, development and management of all real estate ventures, medical office buildings and ancillary facilities. Prior to joining Main Line Health, JoAnn served as Corporate Vice President of Real Estate Services and Facilities at Continuum Services, a five hospital, Manhattan based Health System. She began her healthcare career in 1988 at the Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP). She progressed through various operations roles at MCP and within the Allegheny University Hospitals System including Vice President of Operations and Regional Vice President of Facilities. In 1998 she became Regional Vice President of Facilities for Tenet Healthcare’s Pennsylvania Region. Prior to her career in healthcare JoAnn worked in Higher Education and the U.S. Senate. She is a member of several local, regional and national based organizations such as the International Facilities Management Association, CoreNet Global and Commercial Real Estate for Women (CREW) and serves on several local Boards and Committees including the Executive Leadership Team Chair, 2010 of the American Heart Association’s Go Red initiative. JoAnn received her Master’s Degree from Villanova University and her Bachelor of Arts from LaSalle University.

 

 

Donna M. Phillips 

President, Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, Main Line Health 

Donna Phillips is a senior healthcare executive with more than 20 years experience in non-profit healthcare management and growth. As the president of Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, Ms. Phillips is responsible for strategic long-range planning and management of the 148-bed physical and cognitive rehabilitation specialty hospital. In addition, she has direct strategic and operational responsibility for the post-acute care services of Main Line Health, including The Home Care Network of Jefferson Health System. Ms. Phillips also serves as president of hospital Foundation Board, the hospital’s fundraising arm. Ms. Phillips serves on the board of the Mommy’s Light Lives On Fund and is a past member of the board the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry. She was named the American Heart Association Go Red for Women 2010/2011 Executive Campaign Champion. Ms. Phillips earned her Master of Business Administration from Eastern College and her Bachelor of Science degree in Registered Record Administration from Long Island University.

Eliana Papadakis, MEd, Hon. PhD

 

Eliana Papadakis is a prominent figure in the Philadelphia area. She devotes her time to numerous community and philanthropic organizations. From  1995- 2009 , Mrs. Papadakis’  duties as Drexel University’s First Lady included extensive travel and participation in fundraising activities, alumni outreach, public relations and planning and organizing events at the President’s residence where she hosted over 1500 guests in the course of a year Ms. Papadakis is a member of the PNC Bank Women's Advisory Board , The Philadelphia Orchestra Board, The Philadelphia Zoo Board, The Philadelphia Encore Series (Peter Nero and the Philly Pops), The Philadelphia Opera Company Aria Committee, The National Archdiocese Council of The Greek Orthodox Church , and Leadership 100; she has previously served on the boards of The Philadelphia American Red Cross Southern Pennsylvania Chapter, The Philadelphia Foundation Board of Managers, and Carelift International.  Eliana was Chairman of the 2010 Philadelphia Opera Gala and Chairman of the 2011 Philadelphia Zoo gala. Member of  The Academy of Music Program and Book Committee,  Vice chair of the 2010 Executive Leadership Committee  for the Heart Ball of Philadelphia, Honorary Chair and Event Committee for Coriel Personalized  Medicine Collaborative  , and the Committee and Advisory Member   Mayor’s Office, City of Philadelphia, “Splendor of Florence”. Ms. Papadakis was honored by the Eastern PA division of The March of Dimes with the Outstanding Award of Public Service, and the 2010 Woman One Award given by Drexel University College of Medicine’s Institute for Woman’s Health and Leadership.   She holds Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education degrees from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio and was awarded an Honorary Ph.D, Doctor of Humane Letters, from the College of Arts & Sciences of Drexel University in 2009. She is also the recipient of numerous awards from community and philanthropic organizations in which she has been active in Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania.

The Honorable Sandra Schultz Newman is a nationally recognized legal professional, prolific writer and speaker, and from 1995 –2006 served as the first female justice elected to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. She currently maintains a private law practice in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Appellate Practice. She also prepares lawyers for mock appellate arguments. Newman was a judge on the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and an attorney in private practice. She was also the first female Assistant District Attorney in the Montgomery County. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. Justice Newman has received the Medallion of Achievement Award from Villanova University School of Law, the Anne X. Alpern Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and four Honorary Doctorate Degrees. She is also a recipient of the Drexel 100 Award, recognizing her as one of Drexel University's 100 outstanding alumni, and she has been designated a Distinguished Daughter of Pennsylvania. She was one of the founders of the new Drexel University College of Law, and serves on its Board of Overseers, and she has been on the Executive Board of Trustees of Drexel’s College of Medicine since 2002. She is also a member of the Board of Consultors of Villanova University School of Law and was its past Chair.
